THANKS for Giving!

On November 1st, the Foundation hosted our annual THANKSgiving celebration to share the life-changing impact that our donors are making every day at UPMC Western Maryland. Just like the traditional Christmas favorite - It's a Wonderful Life - illustrates how one life touches so many, we are committed to helping our donors find the right way to make a difference in the lives of our patients and their caregivers. Our guest list is comprised of generous souls who have given $1,000 or more, cumulatively, to the Foundation in a year. This year's honorees  include Stephanie Beverly, who honored the memory of her husband Bradley Beverly and the compassionate Hospice Care team; Bucky Whiteman, who credits the Heart & Vascular team and Cardiac Rehab for his complete recovery through the long haul of heart surgery and recovery; the miraculous life of Amy Driver and her faithful Rehab team, who never gave up on her; and the dedication of our UPMC Western Maryland volunteers, including our furry friends in pet therapy.

Amy Driver (center) is surrounded by what she calls her tribe - an utterly faithful family who prayed her through some very close calls.
