INTRODUCING a brand new scholarship for our registered nurse students! The Rising Nurses Scholarship & Support promises assistance for everyday expenses, a personal mentor to walk with you -- all the way from nursing school through your transition to practicing at UPMC Western Maryland -- and a $10,000 sign-on bonus for those departments that qualify!

Choose from three scholarship funds for UPMC Western Maryland employees and three more that any member of the community can apply for, all targeted to serve the patients at UPMC Western Maryland.

Nursing Excellence
offers one paid education day per week,

Nancy D. Adams Nursing Leadership
offers $2,000 for employees pursuing a BSN or higher
Rising Nurses Scholarship
$5,000 per semester, plus a nurse mentor, and a sign-on bonus in specific departments
Community Healthcare
$2,500 annually for a maximum of two years
Sophia E. Powell Nurse Practitioner
Up to $20,000 over a two-year period -
